Was so impressed with the pork Udon. By no standards is authentic Japanese but it doesn't mean it wasn't delicious and one of the best suburban udons we've ever had! The soy, sesame oil and Dashi stock was so moorish and comforting and skewer very tasty. Sushi rolls were also great and generous in serving. Loved the vegan roll especially- one of the best combos- so fresh and tasty. Would defn come back if we re in Thirroul again.
Cafe style. reasonable price. good portion size. Fresh fish.
Yes this place is BYO!!! That makes me almost as happy as the food did. The fish and flavours were fresh and delicate, and not over filling. Get the family size platter like we did, lots of yummy selections between 2 people (not enough for a whole family though - at least for the size of my stomach). Very much appreciate a yummy Japanese tastes experience- we’ll be back soon!
We stopped at Toro today & had a delicious lunch. Kaarage chicken, tempura vegetables & a sashimi & sushi Benton box. The chicken was crunchy & succulent , while the tempura was light & crispy. The fish was very fresh . Our waiter was helpful & efficient. Would definitely recommend
If you love Sushi then this is the place to eat. Also has another location in Wollongong. This is a quiet little restaurant with a nice modern decor with a hint of Japan and a nice touch with the Koi art on the wall. Food is five stars. I had take away Salmon Chef's Roll first time I visited. I then came back a second time with my Daughter who ordered the chicken. Pricing was good for quality and size. Hands down wins over any shopping centre sushi ! I'd have to say it's also better than Sushi Bay which is now number 2 on my list. Toro in Thirroul and their other Store in Wollongong will always be my first choice in the Illawarra. Well done guys very professional. If you get a chance drop in you won't be disappointed.
Just went here. My tummy is singing after leaving. Beautiful tasting food. Really got an unexpected surprise at the quality presented. Dined in Cheap corkage. Will return again for sure when in the area.
I’ve been coming here for years, and it’s still one of my go to spots for great Japanese food. The quality has always been consistent and the flavours never disappoint. I especially love the soups and the teriyaki chicken meal, delicious, and always satisfying. Highly recommend if you’re after a reliable and tasty Japanese dining experience.
